Investigators looking into the crash of AirAsia Flight 8501 have discovered two large objects on the sea floor using sonar, Indonesian officials said.
An Indonesian navy ship located the objects early Friday, said Henry Bambang Soelistyo, National Search and Rescue Agency chief.
A remote-operated vehicle has been sent to the area to confirm the discovery, he said.
The find comes a week after the plane, with 162 people aboard, disappeared from radar screens while flying over the Java Sea. As of Friday, at least 30 bodies of victims have been pulled from the waters.
It is still unclear why the plane -- which was flying from Surabaya, Indonesia, to Singapore -- crashed into the ocean.
